Inspired by the Track & Field and jogging culture of the 1970s, as well as the collegiate styles that shaped the running aesthetic of that era, the "Ametora" (American traditional) style emerged in Japan during the 1980s. This style is now celebrated in numerous vintage stores across Japan.
